ICEBERG INSPIRATION
The Iceberg (Isbjerget) is an innovative residential complex of 208 apartments located on the waterfront of the new Aarhus Ø district in Aarhus, Denmark. Designed by JDS Architects, CEBRA, SeARCH and Louis Paillard, its distinctive form is inspired by icebergs floating on water, with peaks and “valleys” that maximize sea views and natural light for each dwelling. The structure is organized into four L-shaped wings, creating open urban spaces towards the waterfront and fostering a diverse community with a range of apartment typologies. Completed in 2013, the project has received international recognition for its architectural and urban impact.
