Description

A coffee table defined by a sculptural concrete base supporting a tempered glass top, seemingly suspended in silence, in a composition that speaks of architecture rather than decoration. The geometry of the base develops from a continuous warped surface, forming a structural intersection that transfers loads directly to the ground. The result is a piece in which concrete asserts itself as a noble and expressive material—honest and structurally precise. A table that does not imitate architecture, but embodies it.

CANDELA MINI INSPIRATION

Félix Candela (Madrid, 1910 – North Carolina, 1997) was a revolutionary architect who demonstrated that concrete is not merely a heavy, massive material, but one capable of achieving lightness, precision, and elegance when shaped through geometry. Through warped surfaces—particularly hyperbolic paraboloids—he developed structures of extreme thinness, where form was not driven by aesthetic gesture, but by structural logic. Works such as the Los Manantiales Restaurant in Xochimilco embody this vision: a roof unfolding into structural petals just a few centimeters thick, revealing that the true strength of concrete lies in its form, not its mass. In Candela Mini, this lesson is translated to a domestic scale.
