Description

Mexuar is a 3D flooring system born from rhythm and repetition. A modular system of three pieces that, when precisely assembled, generates a continuous surface where the pattern expands without limits. The system translates the geometric richness of traditional tiled wainscots into a contemporary plane. Inspired by the Mexuar Hall of the Alhambra, the relief interprets tradition through synthesis. Geometry is not ornament—it is structure, proportion, balance. Designed for integration into elevated floor systems, it combines functionality and expression. Concrete captures light and reveals the depth of the pattern. Mexuar does not cover. It orders space, builds surface and restores the value of detail.

MEXUAR INSPIRATION

At the heart of the Alhambra, the Mexuar Hall reveals one of the most refined expressions of Andalusian geometry. Its tiled wainscots, composed of ceramic pieces assembled with precision, construct infinite patterns in which each form responds to a greater order. Developed during the Nasrid period (13th–15th centuries), this ornamental language was not intended to represent, but to structure. Repetition, symmetry, and proportion gave rise to living surfaces, where light and color activated the material. Far from decoration, it was constructed thought—a system in which art, architecture, and mathematics converge in balance. Mexuar draws from this logic and translates it into concrete: a contemporary reinterpretation of a timeless order.
